Magistrate Judge Gallas served as an Assistant Attorney General specializing in Workers Compensation and in Inheritance Tax litigation until 1971 when he began private practice with the firm of Miller, Heiser, Miller & Gallas, in Cleveland, Ohio. Before his appointment he was the Clerk of Court, Northern District of Ohio from 1977 to 1991.
