Judge Futey formerly served as Chairman of the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the United States from May 1984 to his appointment to the Federal bench. Previously he was partner in the law firm of Bazarko, Futey and Oryshkewych, 1975 - 1984; Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Cleveland, 1974-75; Chief Assistant Police Prosecutor, City of Cleveland, 1972-74; and a partner in the law firm of Futey & Rakowsky, 1968 - 1972.
