In his fourteen-year career at the Department of Justice he also served as Counselor to the Associate Attorney General, 1994; Counselor to the Assistant Attorney General of the Tax Division, 1990-1994;Special Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General of the Tax Division, 1989-1990; and Line Attorney, Appellate Section, Tax Division, 1984-1989; From 1982 through 1984, he was an associate at theCleveland law firm of Squire, Sanders and Dempsey. In 1981, he was judicial clerk of the Chief Trial Judge Philip R. Miller at the United States Court of Claims.
