Law Clerk Addict's Blog

We're receiving many reports of judges partially or fully hiring in June and July (particularly in the Second, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits). I'm told that August generally is not very active for clerkship hiring, but let me know if that's not the case. E-mail me at clerking.info.guy@gmail.com. If you're a rising 3L, you should have all of your materials ready to send out by now. By all indications, many judges who typically hire in September have hired early this year. And because of the decrease in law firm jobs, there are more applicants than ever. So apply broadly. Good luck!

 Wiki format?

Clerking Info Guy is proving to be only slightly more involved than Clurker toward the end of his run. Someone should develop a site like this that is based on a wiki platform so we stop running into this problem. There are a lot of very easy changes that could have been made by members of the LCA community by this point -- deceased judges, new appointments, etc. Is anyone up to the task?

It would be too easy to make intentionally incorrect changes to reduce competition for certain clerkships. Do not underestimate Law Review gunners.

Wiki platform makes it easier to edit things. That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone has to have editing access. Have about 3-4 people who can edit things and have a central gmail account that those people have access to, so new info can be e-mailed there and then any one of those 3-4 people can edit. Of course, the problem is really who wants to go through all the trouble of setting things up and then spending the time every year updating things? First poster complains about Clerking Info Guy but is asking for someone else to start things up, not taking the initiative himself. And I'm probably not going to bother, either.

Will you continue blogging for the 2012-2013 clerkship term hiring season? it'd be helpful to share info on the judges who are hiring off plan.
