I've heard the same re: Judge Gorsuch, but can't confirm it. I can confirm, however, that Hartz and Murphy have been contacting 3Ls recently.

He is indeed interviewing. Not sure how many spots are filled, though.

 OSCAR vs. Paper?

Jul 8, 2009, 3:50 AM

2010 Cycle #5

Can judges review OSCAR applications early, or is he only reviewing mailed applications?

 early app

2010 Cycle #6

He is reviewing paper applications. I wouldn't try to go through OSCAR.

 5%

Jul 17, 2009, 5:05 PM

2010 Cycle #13

I take it Gorsuch is pretty strict on his 5% grade requirement.

 – Anonymous (Unregistered)

 5%?

Jul 17, 2009, 9:52 PM

2010 Cycle #14

I know for a fact that Gorsuch can't be strict about top 5%, given that I know one of his clerks who was not in the top 5%.

2010 Cycle #16

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Gorsuch is adamant about doing all his hiring at once in mid-summer; he's been full done since about five weeks ago.

#54's information is bad. J. Gorsuch isn't finished hiring for 2010, and is still accepting applications.

 2010-11

Aug 18, 2009, 11:59 AM

Gorsuch decided to fill one of his posted openings by hiring his Vanderbilt Law clerk for a second year.

He interviewed rising 3Ls last summer pre-plan, so it seems reasonable to assume he did so again this summer.

 2011 cycle

Jun 28, 2010, 2:37 PM

2010 Cycle #25

I'm thinking the post above is BS, since there's no more info and they posted at the same time on two consecutive days. Anyone have any other Gorsuch updates?

 2011 Cycle

Jun 28, 2010, 5:56 PM

2010 Cycle #26

It's usually more helpful to list the actual hires than simply to write, "Judge XXX is done for 2011." Unlike the latter, the former can be confirmed by people who actually know that Judge's hires.

 last cycle

Jun 28, 2010, 6:57 PM

2010 Cycle #27

Gorsuch was calling my recommenders around this time last year, so I don't see why he wouldn't be well underway, if not done by now this year. Just because the posts above don't have schools/grad years doesn't mean they're BS.

 2011 cycle

2010 Cycle #28

110 here. BS was probably too strong - I just thought it was vague and wanted more info. I'm trying to decide which judges I should ask a prof of mine to call, so it would be helpful to cross the judge off the list if he's really done.

 Feeder

Sep 1, 2011, 9:25 AM

2010 Cycle #33

Can we now classify Gorsuch as a feeder?

 – Anonymous (Unregistered)

 Feeder

Sep 1, 2011, 8:45 PM

2010 Cycle #34

You can classify him however you want if you start your own website. Ain't no one updating this one.

 – Anonymous (Unregistered)

 No

Nov 15, 2011, 6:50 PM

2010 Cycle #35

You cannot hardly classify him as a feeder since he's only put one clerk outright on the Supreme Court. But TYFT.
