At least four possibilities re Sutton:
(1) 168 got bad information.
(2) 168's information is out of date (i.e., a 2011 clerk dropped out).
(3) 168 is trying to discourage competition for his/her own application (unlikely but possible).
(3) There really isn't a 2011 opening, but Sutton wants to find strong 3L applicants and offer them 2012 clerkships at the interview (known to happen).
