Jun 2, 2009, 9:33 PM

2010 Cycle #1

Either the BC or UPenn clerk is incorrectly listed. The others are correct.

Boston College is definitely correct. I guess the UPenn one is wrong then.

 Wesley Penn clerk

2010 Cycle #3

Our source for the 2009-10 UPenn clerk is Penn's clerkship handbook, which idenifies a 2005 graduate (initials TK) as clerking for Wesley for that term. Unless Penn got the year wrong (or TK quit / had his offer rescinded after the handbook came out), that placement is correct.

Wesley usually has one clerk that starts in January. Probably one of the five started in January 09 and will go until January 10. Not sure which one is that swing clerk, but the BC alum definitely starts in August.

 clerk corrections

Sep 14, 2010, 2:49 PM

2010 Cycle #25

RCW hires one clerk on an annual cycle (i.e., Jan-Dec 2009) and three on an Aug-Aug cycle. Your listings appear to lump the annual clerk with the 3 who start 8 months later in Aug, which is not super helpful for potential applicants b/c obviously a student in Sept can't apply for a job starting that Jan (i.e., while he/she is still a 3L). However, sticking with your grouping, the missing 2007-2008 clerk (who was there from Jan 07-Dec 07) was a Cornell alumni, who got her degree in 2006. The Yale, Iowa & Penn clerks were all students who got their degrees in 2007. For 2008-2009, the St. John's clerk (really Jan 08-Dec 08) was an alumni who got his law degree in 2006 (I think). The Cornell and Maryland clerks were 2008 grads hired as students. The other clerk was not a Penn clerk, but a University of Buffalo clerk, who was hired as an alum (I think law degree was 2006). For 2009-2010, the UPenn clerk (Jan-Dec 09) was hired as an alumni, I think w/ a law degree from 2006. The NYU and Harvard clerks were both hired as students w/ 2009 degrees. The last clerk is actually the Georgetown clerk who currently have listed for 2010-11; he was hired as an alumni (really, he was still a student, but it was post-plan) and has a degree from 2008. The Boston College clerk should be listed as 2010-11 (because he's Jan-Dec '10 and that's how you've been grouping) and he was hired as a student w/ a 2008 law degree. Berkeley was hired as an alumni (though, again, she was still a student, just post-plan) and has a 2009 degree. Yale and Cornell were hired as students with 2010 degrees. For 2011-12, he has hired 3 clerks. A Brooklyn law grad, hired as an alum w/ a 2009 degree. A Cornell law grad, hired as a student w/ a 2010 degree. And an Albany grad, hired as a student w/ a 2010 degree. He has one spot open for 2011-12, which he is hiring for per the plan.
