Any movement on alumni applicants?

 Incorrect listing

Jun 30, 2009, 4:04 PM

2010 Cycle #2

The Fordham listing for the 2008-09 term is incorrect. The listing should be Harvard. I spoke with chambers a few weeks ago and heard there was no movement thus far, and that the judge was waiting to see what the fall applicant pool looked like.

Should the 2008-09 Fordham clerk be listed for 2007-08? We have a name (initials ED) so I don't think the whole listing is wrong.

No Fordham clerks for 2007-08; ED graduated from YLS as far as I know. You are definitely missing an HLS grad for 2008-09.

O'Scannlain had Yale, Harvard, Chicago, and Notre Dame for 08-09, no doubt about it.

 Interviewing

Jul 9, 2009, 4:27 PM

2010 Cycle #8

I just got a letter from Judge O'Scannlain stating that he does not conduct interviews until the fall, so he may do both alumni and current 3Ls concurrently.

Not to rain on anyone's parade...but O'Scannlain conducts unofficial interviews/extends offers early, although everyone gets a letter like the one you did...

A little bird told me O'Scannlain might have already offered a 3L from U. Chicago.

According to a letter from O'Scannlain, he is already accumulating applications for the 11-12 year, but will not be making selections for some months.

 O'Scannlain letter

No idea about a physical letter, but I can confirm an email went out to some applicants re: interest in a 2011-12 clerkship.

I am an alum, and I applied more than a month ago. If I haven't received a letter or e-mail, does that mean I'm not being considered?

Depends on whether you applied for 2010-11 or 2011-12. If for 2010-11, he's clearly done, but like the other commentator said, he shouldn't be reviewing for 2011-12 yet.

 Letter/email

Sep 28, 2009, 9:05 AM

2010 Cycle #20

As I understand it, the letter/email was to 2010-11 applicants, asking if they'd like to be considered for 2011-12. If you applied for 2011-12 in the first place, there would be no reason to contact you yet. You're probably OK still.

#327 is correct. I received the letter because I applied for 2010-11 position. The letter informed that Judge O'Scanlain was done hiring for 2010-11, but that he is already amassing applications for 2011-12. It also said that he will not be interviewing for a couple of months for 2011-12. So, I think you should be OK.
